At Plain Prints Project, we believe luxury is more than a price tag. It is the care in the making, the fairness in the chain, and the thought given to what happens after the parcel is opened. Here is how we approach it, and where we are still growing.

Environmental: Made with less

Made to order, by design. We produce what our customers actually want, which means far less overproduction and fewer unloved garments left behind. 80% of fabric stock reserved for made to order and 20% for Pop-Up events

Water-free printing. Our prints are created at certified Italian mills using digital pigment printing, a process that skips the traditional steaming and washing stages entirely. Heat, rather than harsh chemicals, is used in finishing. Estimated water saved between 90% to 95% comparing to traditional printing methods.

Fabrics with a good pedigree. Our cotton, linen and viscose are sourced from Italian mills. Our printing partner's certifications cover chemical safety and environmental management, including Bluesign® System Partner status, ZDHC, OEKO-TEX® Standard 100, ECO PASSPORT, 4sustainability® and ISO 14001 cotton is Class I and viscose is Class II.

Social: Made with care

Fair by default. We pay everyone in our supply chain fairly and promptly; our seamstresses are paid immediately once a garment is complete and our suppliers, agents and logistics partners are paid promptly. 

Hand-finished in Singapore. Every piece is made to order and finished by hand, with prints matched by eye, so no two are ever quite identical.

Art with a story. Our collaborations with neurodivergent artists turn original artwork into wearable pieces. We pay Alex and ART:DIS an agreed % for each shirt sold.

Governance: Made with intention

Plain Prints Project is founder-led by a third-generation fabric curator, whose grounding in textiles shapes every material and partner we choose. Having worked alongside our mills for years, our founder has personally witnessed their growth in sustainable governance. We do not just rely on hearsay or paperwork; we ensure their certifications are continuously updated and back our commitments with real-time video proof of the production cycle.

Where we are heading

We are a small brand, and we would rather be honest than perfect. Over the coming years we will update our goals and share our progress as we go.
